I wanted to see for myself, so I put it on my flagpole in a visible spot at home.

Once it was fully charged in the sun, the light spread out in all directions, covering my flag perfectly. 

The battery is strong too, with a 6,800mAh capacity that lets the light shine for up to 12 hours when fully charged.

To see how it would do on a cloudy day, I tested it when it only got about 5 hours of sunlight.

Last month, I was part of a community project to spruce up the center of our small town, and the Sunnytech Light was key to the renovation.

How to Install a Solar Flagpole Light?

To install a solar flagpole light, you can choose from two main types: solar spotlights and regular solar flagpole lights. 

Here’s how you can install each type:

Solar Spotlights

  1. Choose the Location: Find a spot on the ground that gives the best lighting to the flag. It should be unobstructed and ideally positioned to catch sunlight during the day.
  2. Secure the Light: Stake the solar spotlight into the ground at the chosen location. Make sure it’s firm and stable.
  3. Connect and Adjust: Use the provided connectors to link the light to the ground stake. Adjust the angle of the light so that it illuminates the flag effectively, ensuring the light covers the flag fully.

Regular Solar Flagpole Lights

How to Choose the Best Solar Flagpole Lights?

1. The Size of the Flagpole

Picking the right solar flagpole light depends on how tall your flagpole is.

Most of these lights are made for standard-sized poles, so always check if the light fits your flagpole before buying.

Flagpoles usually range from 15 to 25 feet, and some are even taller. 

Typically, the lights that sit on top of the flagpole, called downlights, shine light down onto the flag.

For flagpoles that are up to 20 feet tall, a light with moderate brightness, around 200 lumens, should do the trick.

Just remember, the advertised run time is the maximum it can last, so take it with a grain of salt.

A lot depends on the efficiency and size of the solar panel when it comes to charging speed.

7. Waterproofing Rate

When you’re shopping for solar flagpole lights or any outdoor electronics, it’s crucial to check their waterproof rating. 

This is often listed as an “IP” (Ingress Protection) code

The IP code is an international standard used to define how well electrical equipment can keep out water, dust, and other stuff.

The IP rating includes two numbers
